Long Term Care Resident & Family Experience Survey: Stensrud Lodge
That was the best cake I ever had. It was the only cake that I have ever made.
My mother seems to be healthy and happy. She has struggles due to lack of mobility and the onset of Alzheimer's
Your generosity has added much to our school! Your wonderful treat bags were received with great joy by two classrooms.
I like the music and enjoy everything.
On behalf of our Residents, Board of Directors, Management, Staff of Jubilee Residences, I want to recognize and acknowledge the successful nomination of the staff of Stensrud Lodge for the McClure Golden Heart award. The nomination letter describes why you are so deserving of the award and recognition: "The staff at Stensrud Lodge are extra attentive, they show a sincere affection and consideration of our Mother as a human being; they truly care if she is happy or has concerns. they are attentive to her individual needs and truly care if she is content with something that she is going to consume, a social game like bingo, or something more medical, like requiring a treatment for a medical issue. They are very proactive, not reactive. Being a senior is a very vulnerable position and it is so reassuring as her children to this care centre. We truly appreciate this set of staff....." Commitment like yours really contributes to Jubilee Residences being a "caring community" and "A Great Place to Live, A Great Place to Work". Thank you for your energy, your steadfast attendance to your duties, and for your kindness. Your efforts have a powerful and lasting impact upon our Jubilee Residences residents and our Jubilee community. Robert (Bob) Cowan, Board Chair Yvonne Morgan, CEO JR Board of Directors Jubilee Residences
Nomination: Open Letter to All Staff of Stensrud Lodge
Stensrud Lodge is the "best". They continue their founding legacy of a good care home. They hold numerous social activities for all residents and encourage attendance. Helping to get out of bed, into wheel chair etc and whether a sing song event, social nights, brunch..all done to create a happy home atmosphere. They use first names with residents and get to know them. I have witnessed at sights and visiting my dad who is 90+ and loves it. Home is comfortable and well maintained and dad likes his own room.
Enjoyed the outing to Pike Lake and met some new friends now if I see them on the street I can say "I know you from Pike Lake"
I go to all of the Recreation Events. It gives us stuff to do. Its nice to be with people. I like to be out talking with people not in bed all day.
Thank you for partnering with us this year as a work placement host. We greatly appreciate you providing the opportunity to M. to gain valuable Canadian work experience and providing her with positive guidance.

- The home is big and lovely with lots of light and sunshine. The caregivers are exceptional and are always welcoming to visiting family and friends. They are like family to Mother.
- Friendliness of staff, felling of being at "home", and cooperation of the staff all are great. There is no other place I know of that I would rather my family member be at this stage in life.
- The staff is excellent.
Really happy with all the programs. I know that they are a lot of work are put into them.
McClure Place Foundation annually sponsors the "Golden Heart Awards and Dinner" as a fundraiser for Amy McClure House - an interdenominational personal care home. The Golden Heart Awards are a tribute to individuals, youth, and institutions that have provided exceptional contributions to the wellbeing and quality of life of our seniors. Murray Scharf (retired JR Board Member) nominated Jubilee Residences Inc and Willie and Sonja Wood (family members) nominated the staff of Stensrud Lodge. Both nominations were completed completely independent of each other and both were successful - both Jubilee Residences Inc and the staff of Stensrud Lodge were selected by the McClure Selection Committee to be recognized with a Golden Heart Award. The 14th Annual Golden Heart Awards and Dinner sponsored by McClure Place Foundation was held on September 28, 2016.

Thanks so much for your very kind generosity! The spirit in that place seems genuinely very warm & kind! Keep up the good work! I loved the entertainment and we enjoyed to dance a bit and especially enjoyed to see M.E. "come alive" to the music as always!

After an extended hospital stay, Doris moved to her final home at Porteous Lodge where she became part of the caring community there. Her crusty manner was punctuated with a real warmth for the genuine and caring staff. Sincere thanks to the staff of Porteous Lodge, who define the words kindness and caring. They made Mom's last years special, as she faced the difficulties of advancing dementia with courage. They made her feel welcome, wanted, cared for, and loved. As Mom's world grew smaller, she loved sharing laughter, smiles, movies, music and song with the friends and family who came to visit. thanks to those who took the time to make her days brighter, especially during her brief recent illness.
